Taxcient, Inc. is an exciting startup with an experienced management team that is revolutionizing sales tax compliance software products and services. We are searching for a Web Developer to develop, maintain, and manage Taxcient's public website.

Web Developer

Responsibilities:

  • Select the proper content management & publishing tools.
  • Manage the development of a new Taxcient website.
  • Work with marketing to determine how web campaigns will be organized, launched and managed.
  • Work with marketing to update content and features.
  • Work with marketing to optimize search engine results.
  • Explore e-commerce/shopping cart options for future product offerings through the web.
  • Design clean and effective web pages.
  • Implement technical requirements into websites that work across a variety of browsers and platforms.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a comprehensive user-experience.
  • Self-manage and project manage to ensure timely, quality delivery of all projects.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in a web development role: designing, developing, and managing corporate website(s) or web applications.
  • Strong experience with HTML editing and W3C standards such as CSS .
  • Strong experience with Apache configuration and web server management and maintenance.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux commands and administration.
  • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Superior written, oral, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to streamline production processes, prioritize tasks and report back on status of ongoing production activities.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and shift gears quickly.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and a desire to work with an innovative team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelors Degree.

Experience with as many of the following a strong plus:

  • Experience with Ajax, Java, Javascript, PHP, XML/XSL, SQL, MYSQL, Oracle.
  • Experience and understanding of user interface design principles and usability concepts.
  • Strong experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and others.
  • Experience/knowledge working with Flash.
